Moyers 7th and 8th Grade Boys Win the QCC Tournament at Stringtown

Articled contributed by Jillian Nored –  On October 20-22, 2022 Stringtown Public School hosted the annual Junior High Quad County Conference Tournament, where the Moyers Tigers took home the title of QCC Champions.  Game one, held on Thursday, was against Victory Life.  Cinch Hampton let the Tigers to their first win of the weekend, having 14 points, just above Jaycus Hill with 13, and Brayan Vertiz with 12.  Game two, played against the Wapanucka Indians, was led by Brayan Vertiz, who scored 14 points for the Tigers, followed by Cinch Hampton and Jaycus Hill with six points each.  Kason Neese also put up four points, helping the Tigers win over Wapanucka with a score of 32-23.  The championship game would be between the Millcreek Bullfrogs and our own Moyers Tigers.  Jycus Hill knocked down nine points, followed by Cinch Hampton and Kason Neese, both with six points and Brayan Vertiz with two.  Scoring nothing in the last quarter, the Tigers still managed to play a great game, winning 23-16.
